Description
Moldavite is a member of the Tektite group. It has a hardness ranging from 5.5 to 6 on the Mohs scale.
Moldavite can be transparent or translucent with a mossy green color, with swirls and bubbles highlighting its evergreen appearance. It can be distinguished from green glass imitations by observing their worm-like inclusions of lechatelierite.
Moldavite is only found in the Czech Republic, Russia. It is extremely rare. It is believed that Moldevite is sourced from a meteorite that crashed near the Moldau River in Bohemia 15 million years ago.
Moldavite has always been considered a sacred stone. It was used to adorn altar amulets as back as 25 000 Before Common Era. It is also part of the legend in the Stone of the Holy Grail. Czech's legend says that Moldavite helps the person to find himself or herself and fulfill his or her destiny and also to find and preserve true love.
Today Moldavite is known as the stone of powerful and fast transformation. "The Moldavite flush" is the sudden opening of the heart chakra. It is a powerful healing gemstone that brings positive change to the wearer.
